Thank you for your participation in the 4D Treatment Workshop for Particle Therapy 2018 in Sapporo. The workshop has ended successfully.
We sincerely appreciate your great cooperation and wish you every success in the future.

Greeting

This year, the 10th edition of the 4D treatment workshop will be held in Hokkaido, Sapporo. This special venue has been made available with the financial support of Global Station for Quantum Medical Science and Engineering, a project of Global Institution for Collaborative Research and Education (GI-CoRE) at Hokkaido University, as well as the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).

The 4D Treatment Workshop 2018 will cover all aspects of planning and delivery of proton and heavy ion radiotherapy to moving targets. This workshop on particle therapy has been held annually since 2009 in countries in Europe. As for photon therapy, Hokkaido University also hosted an international conference entitled “Gated Radiotherapy 2000” at the historical dawn of the start of SBRT and gating radiotherapy. Based on the long history of research and clinical practice, this workshop will focus on 4D beam delivery, modelling, motion monitoring, gating and tracking technology, and various methods for mitigating organ motion during radiotherapy especially in particle scanning beam treatment. This year, clinical aspects are also welcomed to be discussed during the workshop.

The workshop will feature invited talks by several world-leading experts in the field, with plenty of time for questions and discussions. There will also be an extended poster session where attendees can present their own research. We strongly encourage participants to submit abstracts for posters at the time of registration.

The number of participants will be limited to about 80 and the registration will close when we reach this number. To enable participation of as many institutes as possible, the number of attendees per institute is basically limited to 3 based from the experience of previous years.
